Over 100 Years of History
HOTEL TIMELINE
- 1879 - Ocean City, NJ was founded by a group of Methodist ministers
- 1894 - The land at 601 Atlantic Avenue, OCNJ is first purchased
- 1903 - Rev. James E. Lake (part of the Founding Family of OCNJ) purchases the land
- 1905 - Rev. Lake builds the original structure of the home
- 1922 - The building is sold and an addition is added increasing the building's size significantly
- 1975 - Theodore & Janina Mychailyshyn open a 30-room guesthouse called "Croft Hall"
- 2000 - Kristina Mychailyshyn & Bob Doliszny purchase Croft Hall from her parents and run it for a year as is
- 2002 - After an extensive renovation by Bob & Kristina, the property opens as the luxurious "Atlantis Inn"
- 2011 - Longtime hotelier, Val Reyes, purchases the Atlantis Inn and ran it as an adults only, contactless Bed & Breakfast
- 2.2.2024 - A local South Jersey family purchases it from Val and plans to fully renovate the decor and branding into a luxurious castle by the sea, Coastal Chateau

WHERE IT ALL BEGAN
A BiteSized Boutique Hotel
Alyse and Lexi's path to becoming boutique hotel owners is a testament to their remarkable marketing acumen, operational efficiency and design expertise. Back in 2014, this dynamic duo recognized the untapped potential of social media, which marked the inception of their renowned "BiteSized" brand.
Over the course of a decade, this brand has gained over 150,000 followers on social media (@bitesizedfitness & @bitesizedsis) and solidified its standing as a well-recognized name in the Greater Philadelphia & South Jersey area.
Between 2014 and 2019, Alyse and Lexi successfully cultivated an online fitness business, called BiteSizedFitness, LLC, which highlights their entrepreneurial flair and the ability to sustain a thriving business. This venture paved the way for the evolution of the BiteSized brand into a lifestyle-focused company with a strong emphasis on fashion and design.
In 2017, Alyse and Lexi astutely observed a shifting trend towards inclusivity and diversity within fashion. They utilized their talents to conceive, execute and market the groundbreaking DreamWalk Fashion Show. This transformative event garnered global attention, accumulating over 50 million views on social media and drawing extensive organic press across the world. Notably, they orchestrated major events in both Philadelphia and New York, including a sold-out show at Live Nation's Gramercy Theater, underscoring their prowess in event production, management and marketing.
When the COVID-19 pandemic disrupted the event landscape, Alyse and Lexi exhibited adaptability by transitioning their focus towards their design capabilities. They established BiteSized Designs, LLC (@bitesized_designs) in June 2020, and remarkably developed the company into a six-figure business within the year with no paid marketing. Their luxury decor company specializes in creating immersive experiences for events and short-term rentals, a testament to their creativity and distinctive personal style. Recognizing the financial promise of well-designed and strategically marketed short-term rentals, coupled with their understanding of real estate, Alyse and Lexi identified an opportunity to leverage their skills further. Their wealth of experience and strong personal brand, which emphasizes distinctiveness and quality, uniquely positions them to establish their first of many successful BiteSized Boutique Hotels. The duo's impressive track record in brand development, event execution, and adaptability in the face of market fluctuations, positions them as formidable candidates poised to excel in the flourishing boutique hotel industry.

As South Jersey natives, our families have cherished generations of vacations "down the shore" in Ocean City, NJ. Our fondest memories are filled with riding surreys along the boardwalk, savoring Manco & Manco pizza, and basking in endless beach days.
Now, as owners of the Coastal Chateau, we are thrilled to extend this cherished experience to other families, helping them create their own unforgettable summer memories.

At the Coastal Chateau, owner Anthony Dominick (Lexi's fiancé), is more than a general contractor – he's an MVP since under his lead the hotel was fully renovated.
Anthony launched Grand Slam Contractors, LLC in 2022 following a successful 15+ year career as a Philadelphia Union Carpenter. With a competitive spirit honed from his days as a talented baseball player, Anthony named his company to reflect his commitment to delivering outstanding results with every project. His dedication to performance was evident in our hotel renovation, he came up clutch, and hit a grand slam!
