Our hotel is designed with a modern approach, eliminating the need for a traditional front desk. Instead, we offer contactless check-in for your convenience. You’ll receive an access code via text before your arrival, allowing you to go directly to your room. Rest assured, our team is always available via text or phone to assist with anything you need during your stay!
Before your arrival, you will receive a 4-digit access code via email and text message. This code will grant you entry to both the front door of the property and your designated room. Our contactless portal allows you to conveniently access your room according to your schedule, without the need to wait in line.
Check-in begins at 4:00 p.m. ET daily. Early check-in is available for an additional fee, subject to availability. You will have the opportunity to purchase early check-in via email and through your guest portal after your reservation is confirmed.
Check-out time is at 11am ET.
Prior to departure, please ensure you have returned your complimentary beach tags to the designated location and removed your vehicle from Charlie Lot.

Yes, we offer early check-in and late check-out for a fee! To request early check-in or late check-out, please visit your guest portal (no app download required). Alternatively, you may call us at 609-820-3569 to update your reservation.
If you arrive before check-in, we’ll gladly store your luggage until your room is ready. However, please note that the Coastal Chateau does not accept responsibility for any items left in storage. You may prefer to keep luggage safely secured in your vehicle until your room is ready. We strongly advise packing light, particularly if you’re staying on one of our upper floors.

Reservations are fully refundable without penalties and can be modified or adjusted up to 10 days prior to check-in.
Reservations canceled, modified, or adjusted within 10 days of check-in will not be refunded or credited and will be charged in full. No refunds are given for early departure or inclement weather.

We offer flexible booking options with no minimum stay requirements for most weekdays. However, during peak season, including holidays and weekends, there may be minimum stay requirement of (2) nights.
Our larger apartment accommodations, including the Ocean, Sunscape, and Garden Villas, have a (3) night minimum stay.
We offer overnight off-site parking for an additional $20 per night at the "Charlie Lot" down the street. This is the closest lot that allows overnight parking, however it is an approximate 7-10 minute walk away. The lot offers 24/7 in and out access.
Due to limited parking spaces, we recommend purchasing parking in advance. Please note that we cannot guarantee a spot for every room, and availability may not be assured on the day of your arrival.
Our parking lot is called the "Charlie Lot" and is located on Atlantic Ave between 8th & 9th Street. You will see a big blue sign that says "PUBLIC PARKING - CHARLIE LOT" next to the Flagship condos.
This is the closest lot that allows overnight parking, however it is an approximate 7-10 minute walk away. The lot offers 24/7 in and out access.
Once you enter the lot, you will drive towards the back (closer to the boardwalk) and park in any open spot that reads "RESERVED FOR COASTAL CHATEAU”.
The Coastal Chateau spots are not continuous and are the following numbers: 38-43, 61-64,& 68 (opposite side by fence).
Reservations are guaranteed with a valid credit card at the time of booking. No on-site payments will be allowed and additional purchases (such as parking or early check-in) will be charged to the card on file.
You must be 23 years or older to confirm a room accommodation at the Coastal Chateau. A valid photo ID must be presented at the time of check-in for identity verification.
The hotel is conveniently located just one block from the beach and boardwalk, directly behind Gillian’s Wonderland Pier.
We know that pets are part of your family, and we're delighted to welcome them into any of our (3) pet-friendly villas.
Our pet-friendly accommodations include ONLY the Ocean Villa, Sunscape Villa & Garden Villa.
If you book a standard guest room with a pet, you will be asked to leave and your room will not be refundable.
A pet fee of $35 per night (per pet) will be charged and includes pet-friendly amenities, such as treats, water bowls and waste disposal bags.
Guests are responsible for any damages caused by their pets to the hotel property. An additional credit card charge of $250 or more will be applied for deep-cleaning or repairs due to pets.
We welcome domestic dogs and cats (maximum of 2 per room). All pets must be up-to-date on vaccinations and be free of fleas/ticks. Pets must be well-behaved and non-disruptive to other guests. Excessive barking or aggressive behavior will not be allowed.

Yes, we have a spacious lobby for our guests to enjoy, complete with a bathroom. Since we don't have a front desk, there’s even more room for you to relax. You can also use the bathroom to freshen up or get changed if needed.
Unfortunately, the Coastal Chateau is located in a historic building without an elevator, accessible solely via stairs. Unfortunately, this includes steep steps and a winding staircase. Although we prioritize inclusivity, architectural constraints prevent alternative access to guest rooms at this property. We are committed to providing assistance or accommodations to individuals with disabilities, despite structural limitations, whenever possible. While we do not offer connecting rooms, we do offer a number of different sized accomodrations for your group. Our Queen/King rooms sleep a maximum of (2) people while our Double Queen Rooms sleep (4). If you are staying with a larger group, please book multiple rooms or explore our larger villa offerings that can accomodate up to (8) guests.
No. The Coastal Chateau is a smoke free property (including marijuana). All of our rooms, apartments, common areas and outdoor spaces, such as the roof deck and garden area, are strictly non-smoking.
This policy applies to all conventional smoking and electronic smoking devices, such as vapes, vaporizers, hookah pens, electronic cigarettes, e-cigarettes, e-cigs, e-pipes, and any similar products.
Guests found smoking in the rooms or leaving noticeable lingering smoking odors will be subject to a $250 room cleaning fee.
Yes, mini fridges are available in all rooms for your convenience, allowing you to store beverages, snacks, and small food items during your stay. For even more flexibility, our villas are equipped with full-size stainless steel refrigerators, providing additional space for your needs.
As a courtesy to other guests, please store beach chairs and other beach equipment under the main outdoor staircase.
We kindly ask that guests use our outdoor hose to rinse off any sandy items/toes before returning to your rooms.

Yes! We provide complimentary beach tags with each reservation (quantity based on max occupancy).
Beach tags must be returned at checkout. A $50 replacement fee per tag will be charged to the card used to book your stay if tags are not returned.
OCNJ requires beachgoers to show a tag in order to enter the beach. If a tag is not shown it costs $10 per person per day.
We have seasonal passes that we provide complimentary with your room, but these aren't yours to keep! They are used all season, so please keep them in a safe place and return them at checkout to avoid any replacement charges.
Yes, you can pick up your beach tags anytime after 11 a.m. on the day of your check-in, once the prior guest has checked out. The Coastal Chateau reuses seasonal tags for all guests, so please keep your tags in a safe place to avoid a $50 per tag replacement cost.
Housekeeping services for guest rooms are offered on an alternating day schedule, starting the day after check-in.

Both airports offer convenient options for travelers visiting Ocean City and the surrounding area.
Since the Coastal Chateau has multiple entrances, some of which are private apartments for specific guests, we do not recommend shipping items to the hotel. If you choose to order something to the hotel, please note that all deliveries are at your own risk.
